He works the wall non-chronologically, placing the story-shaping anchors first and inviting others to arrange their own colour-coded stickies around them under a "Border 42" rule: no interruptions in the first round, write questions on sticky notes for the board, then everyone gets unlimited time to speak.
The spine of the plan is the festival rhythm: - Burning Man / Don't Panic Tour at end of August - Don't Panic Festival (Nov 5th) - Winter Hackathon in December - Hitchhiker Game Jam in January - Towel Day / Earth Day in spring
Each treated as a recurring annual milestone for engaging distinct communities "at the speed of trust." Underpinning the calendar are the working systems: energy/dynamic-equity accounting via the Vogon Bot, Game of 42 and the Spellbook (by July); the July 4th launch of Robbie's declaration in its multi-perspectival, "mice" poetic-translation form with finished brand; and a "Groundhog Day" (Feb 2nd) deadline for a working substrate the "constitution in code" that people can build on.
The session closes on ambitious targets (42 locations on the global map, 42,000 users and $4.2M, then 4.2M members and $42M), media products (Hitchhiker Radia, Hitchhiker TV, the mobile guide), and the improbable lottery.
## Key points - Annual Galactic Meeting (AGM) on July 4th, 2027: the end of the process — sign the proper declaration, transfer the IP into mutual ownership, and launch the proper legal structure, as a worldwide event.
- Festival rhythm as annual milestones: Don't Panic Festival (Nov 5th, fireworks, first significant public marketing); Towel Day + Earth Day in spring (magical locations, e.g. Devonish Way village, Seabase Berlin, global H2G2 community) leading up to the ATM; end-of-August Burning Man / Don't Panic academic tour with a request for guidance and university engagement.
- University of Amsterdam seminar: an autumn course with 16 postgraduate students in law and governance, rights of nature, and privacy, as a way to engage people at the speed of trust.
- Community on-ramps: Hitchhiker Game Jam in January (~300 locations, 30,000 people, 3,000 games) reaching gamers to start vibe-coding indie games on the Game of 42; Chaos Computer Camp Winter Hackathon (Dec-Jan) for the decentralised/hacker crowd.
- Working systems by July: energy accounting, dynamic equity / engineering accounting, Vogon Bot (in Telegram/WhatsApp), Game of 42 and the Spellbook all functioning for onboarding new people.
- July 4th declaration launch: Robbie's declaration launched in its multi-perspectival 'mice' form (different poetic translations of each other, not one text) with the brand finished for that stage.
- Groundhog Day on Feb 2nd: 'rebooting Earth from back-up' — a working substrate / Earth operating system, the constitution in code, ready as the deadline before the IGM.
- Targets, media & moonshots: 42 locations on the global map (diverse, well chosen); 42,000 users + $4.2M for prizes by the AGM, then 4.2M members + $42M; mobile guide on the Android & Apple stores (around CCC); Hitchhiker Radia (24-7 on Swarm) and Hitchhiker TV (peer-to-peer WebRTC) feeding the Don't Panic Festival; vibe-coding workshops ('Zaphod' invitation to vibe code the future) in September; the launch of the improbable lottery on the improbability drive.
## Action items - Get energy accounting, the Vogon Bot, Game of 42 and the Spellbook all working together by July, with dynamic-equity / engineering accounting for onboarding via the Telegram/WhatsApp bot. - Launch Robbie's declaration on July 4th in its multi-perspectival 'mice' form, with the brand ready for that stage. - Stand up Hitchhiker Radia (24-7, on Swarm) and get private minutes/discussions plus other groups' material flowing on it; engage sound artists, musicians and DJs ahead of the Don't Panic Festival. - Prepare Hitchhiker TV (peer-to-peer / WebRTC) early so its visuals feed the Don't Panic Festival. - Deliver the working substrate / 'constitution in code' (the Earth operating system) by Groundhog Day, Feb 2nd, ahead of the IGM. - Run the Don't Panic Festival on Nov 5th with Hitchhiker Radio and a strong visual story; treat it as the annual public-marketing milestone and sign people up. - Organise the end-of-August Burning Man / Don't Panic academic tour: Burning Man radio presence, a request for guidance, university involvement, and the Amsterdam autumn seminar (16 postgrads). - Run the Hitchhiker Game Jam in January and a Chaos Computer Camp Winter Hackathon in December-January; make both part of the annual rhythm. - Establish Towel Day (with Earth Day) as an annual spring milestone by curating magical global locations and engaging the global Hitchhiker community. - Schedule the September vibe-coding workshop ('invitation to vibe code the future') for the start of new term. - Recruit 42 diverse, well-chosen global-map locations and bring them into the Don't Panic Festival. - Publish the working guide as a mobile app on the Android and Apple stores (around the CCC milestone). - Launch the improbable lottery and prizes once the improbability drive is built.

# Transcript One of the important things here is this border 42. So when someone's speaking and you've got a question, let's not interrupt them in the first round. We're all going to talk about it at the end. Just write it down on a sticky note, put it there, and we'll put it up on the wall. That's the sort of questioning board there. And just remember, you're going to have unlimited time, no time limit, to sort of really have your say when it's your turn to sort of go through it. Okay, so here are my main ones that I put on the timeline. I'm going to just put them on the middle there, and then below and after you can put your colours and sort of arrange them or put them together and we'll start to move the stickers around. So in fact, I'm going to start at the end here. So not quite the end, I haven't got the ones here. I'm not going to do them in any order. The ones that I feel give it shape for the story. So the end is July 4th, 2027, which is our annual galactic meeting. And that should be an event that happens all around the world on July 4th. It's the end of the process, and it's hopefully the time we sign the proper declaration and transfer the IP into mutual ownership and launch that legal structure, that proper legal structure. Before that, on spring, this is April, May, there's quite a lot of interesting things that happen in spring. We've got Towel Day, and what we want to do is pick these really magical Towel Day locations. So this year in the village in Devonish Way was the Dunpanic Festival on Towel Day. At Seabase in Berlin, they celebrate Towel Day. There is the global H2G2 community. We just try and find really good locations around on Towel Day. And that follows basically Earth Day. So there's a nice kind of period where we can sort of open and close, maybe with a serious workshop. But Towel Day would be the lead-up to our ATM here. So that's one that I would like to succeed in engaging the global Hitchhiker community. And also establish it as an annual milestone that we do. Coming back to the beginning here, this is November, November the 5th this year. That's the Don't Panic Festival, right? So that's Fireworks, and that is just sit at home, cook some food, invite your friends, meditate on how terrible the world is and all the ways we can die and the doom scrolling, and then just get that feeling of Don't Panic. And at that event, we want the Hitchhiker Radio to be there and a nice visual story to present to people. And that's our first time to go, what I would say, at some significant marketing level to the public. And that should be a real milestone that we try and get an amazing festival every year and sign people up and what have you. Before that, I've got the beginning of the academic tour thing. That's the end of August, beginning of September. And that's the Don't Panic Tour, or the Burning Man Tour. And that's, ideally, we put something on Burning Man radio. We announce it. We have some presence in some universities. We release this request for guidance. We get some students to help build things, to write things. And we try and get the professors and the students. And it's also the time we'll be starting this course in one university, which is the autumn seminar with 16 postgraduate students in law and governance, rights of nature, privacy, at the University of Amsterdam. But that basically is, let's start to engage people at the speed of trust and particularly focus on students there, I would say. So that leads us up and builds towards the Don't Panic Festival. So we want to engage them in helping it up. So it's kind of boop-boop-boop, trickling. And January, I'll move it a little bit there. There's a kind of, oh, that's there, actually. That's the Hitchhiker Game Jam. That's our ability to go out to gamers. And there are 300 locations around the world from memory. And 30,000 people turn up online and make 3,000 games, that kind of thing, lots of threes there. But the idea there is that's a key, I think, audience as well that we can easily reach out to. And by that time, we should have got the kind of Game of 42, the player, the infrastructure for them to start vibe coding and building indie games. Okay, so that's the basic thing I've got there. And then I'm going to find out what these are here. This is a more short-term, immediate one in July. This is getting our energy accounting. That's our Vogon Bot, our Game of 42, and our Spellbook all kind of working for us. And when we onboard other people, they can do the dynamic equity in the engineering accounting. They can use the bot in Telegram or WhatsApp. It gets processed nice and easily. And we're playing this game of 42. So I'd like that done by July. Let's see what this is. This is the launch of the declaration, right? I would say that is as well in July, July the 4th. So there's Robbie's declaration, but I would like to launch it with the mice and this multi-perspectival element of the brand. So not just the one text, but these different sorts of texts that are kind of poetic translations of each other. And to get the brand right by then for that stage of it. So that again is July here. And then I would like to probably, I'm going to put it here, September. I'm going to put these as not so important just underneath it. But this kind of vibe coding workshop. That's the invitation of Zaphod to people to vibe code the future. Get a nice thing we can regularly run to involve students and other people and say, hey, build on this substrate, build on this architecture. Invitation to vibe code the future. And so I'm saying that's September. Get it ready for the beginning of new term, possibly earlier, I don't know. This one here is February, which is maybe not so important, but that's the day that all this building in the autumn term, we should have this groundhog day. That's rebooting Earth from back up. We're also rebooting the Earth operating system. And that is the, it should be a working substrate you can build on now. So this is all a bit experimental with a small number of people. But this is our deadline to say, when we launch our IGM, we've kind of got it ready by February the 2nd, right? That's the constitution in code that is ready by then, right? And then we can test it and do other things over that. And by some date here, I would say I'm going to put it somewhere like here. I want 42 locations on the global map. But this could just be an individual in Thailand who's a really good hitchhiker and they can sit at home and do a Zoom call. It doesn't, you know, and their mission is to go and get a proper base and an event place that they can do events, but they mightn't have it yet. But I want them to be really well chosen, diverse. We bring them into the Don't Panic Festival and we can see this stuff coming in from 42 locations. I don't know the timing there, but that's just sort of a milestone. This one is December, which is the Chaos Computer Camp, the Hacker, I call it the Winter Hackathon. So over this period, December to January, that's when that conference is going on. There is, they've always wanted to do, and they do do the decentralised stuff. It's somewhere we can take a lot of tables, we can build stuff then. So I'd like to organise a Winter Hackathon at that period and make that part of the rhythm. So here are some more kind of targets here. So by the AGM here, I'd like 42,000 users and $4.2 million in the bank account that we can offer as prizes. That's a kind of financial target and what have you to go for us. And by the next one, I want 4.2 million members and $42 million in the bank account. It's that kind of thing. This one is interesting. I don't know when this one should be ready, but I think it might be related to the CCC, but it should be around about that. That's to get the working guide on mobile and on the Android store and on the Apple store, right? That's to publish it and release it. It should be being developed here, but that would be a milestone there. This one here for Don't Panic Festival is the Hitchhiker Radia should be ready and launched and be 24-7 by then. Okay, we can talk about that. So that's basically on probably Swarm, on the decentralized thing. Our minutes and our most discussions should be on that in a private way. Other groups should be all bubbling on there, should all be putting their material on there, discussions on there. And we should engage some sound artists and musicians to get prepared for the Don't Panic Festival. There's some open source sound that we can put in there that can provide content. And we should sign up some kind of DJs and artists in that contest here. And nearly the last one, Hitchhiker TV is the visual version of that. And I would like that probably ready roundabout when the guide mobile, I don't know where that is. But that's basically the idea that we don't use Zoom calls anymore. We can do these peer-to-peer interfaces in this web RTC stuff. No, I'm going to put this earlier because I want the visuals from that to go into the Don't Panic Festival. So this has the food element, the hubs network, and the radio element, and the visual element there. And the visual element should be something visual, and I'm seeing it to do with Hitchhiker TV. And then this big one, which I would like here. Which is the launch of the improbable lottery and the prizes there. So having built the improbability drive, and when you take part in this, you can win a prize. So that is a rough and ready-go for me, right? Like the what's and the rough timeline. Just give you as much time as you want. That might inspire you or horrify you or you agree or disagree, and you can think how your ones fit with that. Now just have as much time as you want to sort of finish that. Or any questions you've got there, you can put them up on the board for you. Cool. I'll put some questions up.
